Senior AI Engineer - Business Systems & Salesforce

Overview

LABUR is partnering with a client to bring on a Senior AI Engineer - Business Systems & Salesforce who will design and build AI-powered solutions across enterprise business systems, with a particular focus on Salesforce. This role is fully remote. Sitting at the intersection of AI engineering, Salesforce, enterprise applications, and business process automation, this is a hands-on engineering position - not a traditional Salesforce architect or advisory role. The ideal candidate engages directly with business stakeholders, identifies the right technical approach and guardrails, and then builds and deploys production-grade solutions that account for the downstream operational and financial impacts of AI agents acting on enterprise data.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI and agentic AI solutions integrated with Salesforce and other enterprise business systems, leveraging LLMs, APIs/SDKs, tool/function calling, and agentic architectures.
  • Develop AI agents and multi-step workflows that securely interact with enterprise data, APIs, and business processes across CRM, ERP, HRIS, data warehouse, and BI platforms.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into Salesforce, accounting for standard and custom object relationships and downstream impacts to sales, forecasting, quoting, revenue, financial, service, and operational processes.
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes, gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and translate business needs into technically sound AI solutions.
  • Evaluate the broader impact of AI-driven actions and establish appropriate guardrails, permissions, controls, and governance frameworks - including auditability, data protection, and security.
  • Develop and extend enterprise integrations using APIs, OAuth/SSO authentication frameworks, and role-based access controls, with attention to audit logging, data lineage, and PII protection.
  • Collaborate with existing architects and technical teams while maintaining hands-on ownership of AI solution delivery, and identify where AI can create meaningful business value beyond information retrieval and summarization.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience building and deploying AI/GenAI solutions in production environments, including agentic AI architectures with tool/function calling and multi-step workflows.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions with Salesforce or comparable enterprise business systems, with practical understanding of Salesforce architecture, object relationships, custom objects, and business-process dependencies.
  • Background across Salesforce business processes involving sales, quoting, forecasting, service, marketing, financial operations, or partner/channel workflows.
  • Strong software engineering background including Python, APIs, LLM APIs/SDKs, and enterprise integrations; familiarity with LangChain, MCP, or similar agentic AI frameworks is a plus.
  • Ability to understand end-to-end business processes and anticipate the downstream consequences of automated actions, particularly in environments where incorrect system actions can impact forecasting, revenue, or operations.
  • Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and working independently from discovery through design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across both technical and business audiences; experience with OAuth, SSO, RBAC, enterprise authentication, and AI/data governance preferred.

Compensation

$175,000 per year - Dependent on fit and experience.
