About the Role
The Senior ADG Quality Management System Engineer is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS), compliance framework, and product assurance processes required to support Aerospace, Defense, and Government (ADG) market segments for Altera. This role serves as the quality and compliance authority for ADG programs, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory, contractual, and industry standards and ADG customer-specific requirements. The position requires deep knowledge of ADG standards and compliance framework and experience with practical approach in implementing and ensure compliance for fabless semiconductor model. The individual will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, Legal, Security, and 3rd party service providers to ensure end-to-end compliance across product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive companywide standards and certification requirements for ADG
Lead AS9100 certification and QML/MIL-PRF-38535 conformance of Altera organization worldwide
Establish and implement defense-specific risk management, traceability, configuration management and governance processes, aligning to ADG requirements.
Review contracts with business acumen mindset, focusing on quality and regulatory clauses, organizational standards conformance and ensure effective flow-down.
Support export compliance and controlled data handling in partnership with Legal/Compliance.
Integrate ADG requirements into product lifecycle, design reviews, verification/validation, change management, and failure analysis.
Drive establishment of KPI / matrix to measure readiness and maturity towards ADG compliance across organizations
Support internal audits, 3rd party accreditation audits and customer / government approval audits
Salary Range
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.
$149,100K - $215,900 USD

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics or related field) with minimum 10 years of working experience in semiconductor industry, aerospace / defense quality system
In depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, IATF16949 and QML/MIL-PRF-38535
Working knowledge in DFAR/ITAR/EAR export controls, Trusted Foundry programs, AS5553, CMMC, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, Secure FPGA flows, Anti-Tamper, ANSI/ESDA S20.20, ISO17025, DO-254, DO-178C
Experience in leading quality management system internal and external audits (3rd party certification body, customers, vendors).
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record enabling ADG QMS, compliance and certification in semiconductor environment.
Experience as ISO9001 or AS9100 or IATF16949 Lead Auditor (internal / external)
Experience in FPGA or complex SoC product environments.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent.
Experience in collaborating directly with Tier 1 ADG suppliers
