Our client, a leading wealth management, planning and advisory firm for ultra-affluent families, is seeking a Senior Advisor for a direct hire role in New York City.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a seasoned investment and business development professional to join our New York team, and we want to be clear about what that means. This is not a traditional sales role focused on prospecting and closing. It is not a relationship management role with some business development attached. It is a deeply integrated trusted advisor and business development role, designed for someone who can credibly engage sophisticated families, understand complex investment needs, and articulate the value of independent advice.
The ideal candidate will bring meaningful advisory experience with ultra-high net worth families, family offices, and/or institutions, with particular depth across alternative investments and private markets. You will be expected to leverage that expertise not only in serving existing clients, but also in developing new relationships and helping prospective families understand how an independent advisory model can address the complexity of their financial lives.
If you are technically sharp, commercially minded, intellectually curious, and genuinely motivated by the belief that exceptional families deserve exceptional advice, this role was designed for you. You will join a stable, long-tenured team that takes collaboration seriously and measures success by the quality of the relationships it builds and the clarity, confidence, and progress of the families it serves. The right candidate will find here something rare in this industry, which is a firm whose interests are structurally aligned with its clients', a team that holds itself to genuine standards, and a professional home designed for the long term.
Character and Culture
A deeply collaborative nature, and a genuine belief that the best outcomes are always collective ones
Intellectual curiosity with a need to understand not just what a prospective or existing client wants, but why, and what they haven't yet thought to ask
Purposeful and authentic in client relationships; comfortable with candour, not prone to telling people what they want to hear
Commercially oriented without being transactional; able to build trust and develop relationships over the long term
Tenacious in follow-through, humble in approach, and someone who takes the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously
A natural inclination toward stewardship over salesmanship
Experience and Expertise
15+ years of relevant investment, advisory, and/or business development experience, ideally with a significant focus on ultra-high net worth and affluent family clients
Demonstrated experience developing and cultivating relationships with UHNW individuals, family offices, founders, executives, and/or other sophisticated private clients
Deep working knowledge across asset classes, with particular expertise and credibility in private markets and alternative investments
Strong understanding of how alternatives, private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets, and other non-traditional investments can fit within broader client portfolios and objectives

Demonstrated ability to translate complex investment and alternative investment topics into clear, engaging, and actionable guidance for sophisticated (and non-specialist) family members alike
Proven ability to identify opportunities, develop prospects, build trusted relationships, and convert those relationships into long-term client engagements
