Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $65,000 – $85,000 DOE


A well-established distribution and logistics organization in the Bakersfield area is looking to add an experienced accounting professional to its finance team. With a strong regional presence and a reputation for operational excellence, the company continues to grow while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting accurate financial operations and ensuring vendor relationships remain strong and effective.


The Opportunity


This role exists to support increasing transaction volume and strengthen the accounts payable function as the organization continues to expand. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will take ownership of the full-cycle AP process, work closely with accounting and operations leadership, and serve as a key resource for resolving complex vendor and payment issues. What You'll Do


• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Review and analyze AP aging reports to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Support month-end close activities by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and reporting schedules.
• Partner with accounting leadership and operational departments to improve procedures, controls, and workflow efficiencies.


What We're Looking For


• 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including high-volume transaction processing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, vendor management, reconciliations, and month-end support.
• Experience working within ERP systems along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Manufacturing, distribution, logistics, agriculture, or related industry experience preferred.
