Senior Accounts Payable & Accounting SpecialistThe Schebler Company | Bettendorf, IA | Full-Time | Non-ExemptPay: $25.00–$28.00 per hourAbout the RoleThe Schebler Company is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting team. This hands-on role owns end-to-end accounts payable operations and supports general accounting activities in a manufacturing environment. You will partner closely with Purchasing, Operations, and Finance to ensure accurate vendor payments, clean financial records, and timely reporting.This position reports to the Accounting Manager, with occasional direction from the VP of Finance & Administration.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts PayableOwn the full AP cycle, including invoice processing, matching, coding, approvals, and payment executionProcess electronic payments, ACH transactions, and check runs in accordance with company policies and internal controlsManage vendor relationships, reconcile vendor statements, resolve invoice discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiriesEnsure accurate coding of expenses to G/L accounts, cost centers, and projectsMaintain AP controls and support continuous improvement of AP processes, systems, and documentationAssist with 1099 reporting and AP-related audit requestsGeneral AccountingReconcile the AP subledger to the general ledgerSupport month-end and year-end close activitiesAssist with balance sheet reconciliations as assignedTrack and manage use tax obligationsServe as backup for payroll processingReporting & AnalysisPrepare standard AP and expense-related reports for managementSupport cost tracking and analysis related to manufacturing operationsIdentify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost controlAssist with ad hoc financial reporting requestsQualificationsAssociate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school5+ years of related accounts payable and/or accounting experienceManufacturing industry experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently, anticipate work needs, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environmentSchedule & BenefitsThis is a full-time, Monday–Friday, day-shift position based on-site in Bettendorf, Iowa.
