Senior Accounting Manager

I am partnered with a $3B PE backed manufacturer near Schaumburg, IL on a Senior Accounting Manager opening on their Technical Accounting team. The organization is rapidly growing organically and through acquisitions, with majority market share in their industry. The team prioritizes collaboration and internal growth/promotability and are always looking for candidates ready to grow their career. Our client is looking for a strong, motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our $3B PE backed manufacturer near Schaumburg, IL. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this role will support the P&L and technical accounting function, partnering with business leaders and ensuring accurate/timely reporting for month end close.

Job Description

Senior Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Own key accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions, providing sound recommendations and clear communication to diverse audiences.
  • Lead critical close activities, reconciliation processes, and financial analyses while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Partner with finance and business leaders to support forecasting, planning, and performance management activities.
  • Enhance the organization's internal control framework through ongoing monitoring, process improvements, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Facilitate successful audit outcomes through effective coordination, preparation, and issue resolution.
  • Influence business decisions by delivering meaningful financial insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Promote consistency and compliance through stewardship of accounting policies, procedures, and stakeholder training.
  • Provide analytical support for special projects, strategic initiatives, and evolving business priorities.

The Successful Applicant

Senior Accounting Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, technical accounting & general ledger
  • Ability to oversee the P&L and support process improvements
  • Experience within public accounting highly preferred
  • Experience within SAP
