Job Summary
This position is located in Carson City, NV and is not remote. Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform a variety of duties at the highest level of clerical accounting, interpreting and applying guidelines and extracting and evaluating account information/data to make decisions and monitor various accounts. Incumbents review and reconcile clerical accounting documents prepared by others; provide technical assistance to staff to resolve problems; assist in developing procedures to implement or improve work processes; and develop computer spreadsheets and other data collection processes for the purpose of tracking and organizing accounts related information. This position works in the Accounting Division within the Secretary of State's office. While working in various systems, some of which are unique to the Secretary of States office, this position will be responsible for a multitude of duties. Some of these duties include completing the daily deposit, analyzing and reconciling internal reports, processing returns and credit card disputes, creating trust accounts, processing accounting transactions in the States accounting system, and assisting customers with an emphasis on providing the highest level of customer service. Accounting Assistants supervise and participate in the performance of clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.
