It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do outstanding work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

What is the role?

At Bloomberg, we are committed to delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information that supports strategic decision-making across the organization. As part of the Chief Accounting Office, the Consolidations Reporting team plays a critical role in overseeing Bloomberg's global close and reporting processes while maintaining the integrity of the Company's consolidated financial results.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Consolidations Reporting team. This role is responsible for supporting Bloomberg's monthly consolidated close process, preparing the consolidated close package for the Chief Accounting Officer, and performing analytical review of Bloomberg's financial results. The position offers broad exposure across the finance and accounting organization and will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting, FP&A, and Finance Systems teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and transparency of the Company's consolidated reporting.

In addition to accounting and reporting responsibilities, this role will contribute to initiatives aimed at improving reconciliation, certification, and reporting workflows and modernizing Bloomberg's finance and accounting technology solutions.

We'll Trust You To:

  • Prepare and maintain Bloomberg's monthly consolidated close package for senior accounting and finance leadership.
  • Perform analytical reviews of consolidated balance sheet and income statement results, identifying trends, fluctuations, and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to support quarterly reporting requirements and provide consolidated analytics and commentary.
  • Support the monthly consolidated close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of critical reporting deliverables.
  • Coordinate with accounting teams across the organization to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of consolidated financial information.
  • Review intercompany, elimination, and consolidation activities to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Monitor and improve balance sheet reconciliation and account certification processes, ensuring appropriate controls and timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Collaborate with Finance Systems and business partners to enhance reporting, close management, and reconciliation processes across platforms including SAP, Oracle, BlackLine, and Workiva.
  • Support initiatives to streamline and accelerate close activities as Bloomberg continues to evolve its financial reporting processes and timelines.

You'll Need To Have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, or external reporting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement presentation.
  • Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform analytical review of financial results and investigate significant variances.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of management.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

We'd Love To See:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with consolidated financial statements and multi-entity accounting environments.
  • Experience working within large, complex organizations with global operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, BlackLine, Workiva, or similar financial systems.
  • Public accounting experience, particularly within assurance or financial reporting practices.
  • Experience participating in finance transformation, systems implementation, or process automation initiatives.
