    Location: South Bay, Los Angeles | On-site
    Reports to: Accounting Manager

    Role Overview

    Our client, a growing company within the aerospace, defense, and manufacturing sector, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.

    This individual will play a hands-on role across month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, audit readiness, and the integration and standardization of accounting processes across the organization. The position offers exposure to technical accounting matters, inventory accounting, business combinations, and a growing finance environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

    • Complete assigned month-end close activities accurately and within established timelines.
    • Prepare detailed balance sheet and account reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaids, fixed assets, inventory, and intercompany accounts.
    • Assist with monthly P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, including researching and documenting significant fluctuations.
    • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of close processes.

    Accounting Integration & Process Improvement

    • Support the integration and standardization of accounting activity across multiple business units and acquired entities.
    • Assist with general ledger clean-up and the alignment of account coding across the organization.
    • Help document accounting processes, procedures, and internal workflows.
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve accounting processes as the organization continues to grow.

    Audit & Compliance Support

    • Support financial statement audit readiness and respond to audit-related requests.
    • Maintain clear supporting documentation and audit trails for journal entries, reconciliations, and non-routine transactions.
    • Assist with period-end and year-end cut-off procedures.
    • Prepare schedules, analyses, and supporting memos as needed for accounting and audit purposes.

    Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting

    • Support inventory accounting and reconciliation activities across manufacturing operations.
    • Assist with inventory tracking, standard cost and variance analysis, and physical inventory counts.
    • Work cross-functionally to investigate and resolve inventory-related accounting discrepancies.

    Finance & Operational Reporting

    • Prepare recurring revenue reporting and analyze actual performance against budget.
    • Support cash flow reporting and analysis of cash movements and projected cash requirements.
    • Partner with accounting and finance leadership on ad hoc analyses and other initiatives as needed.

    Qualifications

    • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Experience within public accounting, private industry, or a combination of both. Prior experience with a Big 4, national, or well-established public accounting firm is a plus.
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles to routine and moderately complex transactions.
    • Experience working within ERP/accounting systems and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Experience working across multiple entities, business units, or accounting systems is preferred.
    • Advanced or strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
    • Manufacturing, inventory accounting, aerospace & defense, or another operationally complex industry background is a plus.
    • Exposure to acquisitions, business combinations, or post-acquisition accounting integration is advantageous but not required.
