Caring and Thoughtful | Get Things Done | Work with Purpose Summary The Tax Senior Accountant I manages and organizes clients' tax data to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of individual tax returns, as well as moderately complex corporation, partnership, S-Corp, and trust tax filings. Tax Seniors take an active role in all phases of engagement, applying technical expertise and critical thinking to deliver high-quality results. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting research on complex tax issues, and identifying planning opportunities for a diverse client base. Frequent collaboration with internal teams and other departments is essential to providing comprehensive client service and fostering long-term relationships. Responsibilities - Serves as a trusted advisor to clients by providing technical tax guidance, addressing inquiries, and proactively identifying opportunities for tax planning and optimization.
- Oversees the preparation and review of business and personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance with tax regulations, and adherence to firm and professional standards.
- Cultivates and strengthens client relationships through regular communication, understanding their financial goals, and offering tailored tax strategies to support their business and personal financial success.
- Maintains awareness of prescribed budgets and deadlines, proactively managing engagement timelines to ensure efficient and timely completion of client deliverables.
- Conducts tax research on complex issues, interpreting regulatory updates, and collaborating with internal departments to provide informed recommendations and solutions.
- Leads, trains, and mentors staff on tax principles, best practices, and firm procedures, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Guide junior team members through the preparation of simple accounting and tax returns, reviewing their work for accuracy and offering constructive feedback.
- Actively participates in engagement planning, identifying potential risks, tax-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
- Stays current with industry developments, emerging tax laws, and accounting trends, applying newfound knowledge to enhance client service and firm capabilities.
- Fosters collaboration across departments, working closely with audit, advisory, and other teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to clients.
Qualifications and Education - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting or tax preparation.
- Active CPA licensure preferred.
- Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education is required each year.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; with an emphasis on Excel and QuickBooks; Tax and Accounting software.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
