Senior Accountant Role:
The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting lead for the organization and play a key role in stabilizing and organizing the accounting function during a period of transition and growth. This position is heavily transactional and high volume, requiring someone comfortable working in the weeds while managing core accounting operations independently.
Responsibilities include:
preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
maintaining the general ledger and reconciliations
overseeing journal entries and month end close
processing and managing high volume accounting activity
supporting audit and tax preparation activities
improving accounting workflows and helping automate manual processes
assisting with cleanup and structure within the accounting department
eventually helping oversee and delegate work to a future Staff Accountant
Preferred:
• Senior Accountant level experience
• professional services industry background
• Sage Intacct experience
• experience cleaning up or improving disorganized accounting processes
• CPA or CMA designation
Senior Accountant Background Profile:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience
experience handling full cycle accounting responsibilities
strong reconciliations, month end close, and financial reporting experience
advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
ability to work independently with minimal oversight
high attention to detail in a fast paced environment
