We are looking for hands-on self-starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. The position will report to the Controller.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis: • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). • Lead the month-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.
General Ledger Management: • Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries. • Perform bank and account reconciliations.
Cost Accounting: • Familiarity with cost accounting - calculating margins, excess and obsolete inventory and monthly inventory count management.
Audit & Compliance: • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary workpapers and schedules. • Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.
Taxation: • Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. • Coordinate with external tax team to prepare workpapers for federal and state tax filings.
Payroll: • Process bi-weekly payroll with ADP software as needed.
Leadership: • Supervise, train, and mentor accountants and accounting assistants. • Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Production, and Engineering, to meet manufacturing schedules and support cost control initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Experience: • 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. • Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred. • Experience working in a public company preferred.
Technical Proficiency: • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). • Hands-on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred NetSuite.
