Senior Accountant - Path to Controller

A fast-growing construction company in Bushnell, Florida (conveniently located near Wildwood, The Villages, Leesburg and approximately 45 minutes south of Ocala) is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for more than just their next accounting role — the position offers strong potential to advance into a Controller role and ultimately become a key member of the senior management team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play an important role in the company's financial reporting, month-end close, accounting operations, and continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
• Prepare account reconciliations and support monthly financial statements
• Ensure accounting activities are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for the CFO, owner, and senior management
• Help improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial systems
• Provide guidance and support to other members of the Accounting team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4–6 years of hands-on corporate/private company accounting experience
• Strong financial statement preparation and account reconciliation experience
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Construction industry experience preferred
