    Senior Accountant – North American Region

     

    Location: Atlanta, GA

    Grade: 11

     

    Position Summary:

     

    The Senior Accountant – North American Region will report directly to the North America Accounting Senior Manager and play a key role in month-end close, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analytics. This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to collaborate across teams, and a proactive approach to process improvements and compliance.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger. Conduct flux and trend analyses of financial statement data on a monthly basis.

    • Oversee month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries and financial reporting.

    • Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

    • Work closely with onshore and offshore teams to determine the proper accounting treatment of transactions and resolve outstanding items.

    • Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.

    • Evaluate SOX controls, ensuring adequacy and compliance. Identify and implement improvements, update process documentation, and collaborate with business process owners.

    • Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

    • Lead ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

    5+ years of corporate accounting experience

    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (medium to advanced level)

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues

    • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in both team and independent work environments

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of management

    • Ability to meet deadlines during month-end close while driving longer-term projects to completion

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    CPA license (or progress toward certification)

    • Experience in a large multinational company

    • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and SmartView tools

    • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or other) is a plus
