A bit about us:We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant – Revenue to join a mission-driven nonprofit healthcare organization serving children, adolescents, adults, and families.
This is a hands-on accounting position with significant responsibility for revenue accounting, grant accounting, financial compliance, reimbursement analysis, and financial reporting across multiple funding streams.
The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit accounting experience and a solid understanding of GAAP, federal grants, Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement, grant compliance, and financial reporting. Experience with CCBHC financial requirements is highly desirable.

Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Partner with the billing department on monthly Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable CCBHC billing models.
- Monitor and analyze payer mix and reimbursement rates and identify opportunities for revenue optimization.
- Analyze accounts receivable and collaborate closely with billing and revenue cycle teams.
- Manage and bill federal, state, and private grants.
- Ensure compliance with allowable cost requirements, time & effort documentation, and procurement standards under Uniform Guidance.
- Perform monthly analysis of grant spending and identify over- or under-spending.
- Prepare CCBHC financial cost reports.
- Provide payroll backup support as needed.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and support accurate month-end and year-end closes.
- Participate in annual audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and support for Single Audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, grant requirements, and applicable CCBHC certification standards.
- Monitor changes in financial regulations and industry best practices and communicate relevant changes to the organization.
- Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or grant-funded environment.
- Experience with federal grants, Single Audits, and/or multi-fund grant environments.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting/FASB principles.
- Experience with Medicaid billing, CCBHC financial requirements, and cost reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency with complex accounting systems; experience with MIP and/or Microix is highly desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced, grant-funded environment.
