You will play an important role in financial reporting and the month-end close process, with responsibility for journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, audit support, and financial analysis. We are looking for someone who does more than complete the work. We want someone who asks questions, catches inconsistencies, solves problems, and looks for opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review recurring and non-recurring journal entries
- Calculate and record accruals and other accounting estimates
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Analyze financial results and explain significant account fluctuations
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting financial reporting and audit requirements
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and respond to auditor requests
- Research accounting issues and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions
- Partner with operational leaders to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize accounting processes
- Assist with finance projects and system implementations
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to other accounting team members
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and working with large amounts of financial data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
- A proactive mindset and an interest in improving processes rather than simply maintaining them
