Senior Accountant (Contract: 4-6 Months) - Livermore, CA

$45-$55/hour | Well‑Known Company | Excellent Location Near Pleasanton/Dublin

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to make an immediate impact at a respected, well‑established organization? Our client-an industry-leading company with a fantastic culture-is seeking a Senior Accountant for a 4-6 month engagement. This role is on‑site in Livermore, conveniently located near the Pleasanton/Dublin border.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys taking ownership, and is confident jumping into complex accounting activities with minimal supervision.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting core accounting operations and financial reporting. Responsibilities include:

Month-End Accounting & General Ledger

  • Assist leadership with delivering an accurate, timely month‑end close
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Analyze and resolve reconciling items across various general ledger accounts

Financial Reporting

  • Contribute to the monthly financial reporting package, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow schedules
  • Partner with Finance leadership to provide narrative explanations and analysis (MD&A-style insights)

Fixed Assets & Capital Projects

  • Manage fixed asset entries, rollforwards, and capital expenditure reports
  • Maintain and review capital project documentation and evaluation forms
  • Oversee CIP activity and ensure accurate tracking

FP&A & Audit Support

  • Assist with periodic forecasting updates and annual budgeting
  • Participate in annual audit activities and provide required documentation

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

  • Process specific ERP‑related invoices for designated business units
  • Document accounting procedures, support internal control improvements, and participate in process enhancement initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams throughout the organization

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA a plus)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience working within a major ERP system (NetSuite, Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, Infor, etc.)
  • Strong analytical abilities with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and presentation
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build rapport across teams
