We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent role that offers an exciting opportunity to work within the legal industry, specifically within a prestigious law firm. The successful candidate will play a significant role in managing the firm's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to financial decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing and managing all general ledger activity, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
2. Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to the firm's partners and senior management.
3. Managing the firm's payroll system and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
4. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
5. Ensuring compliance with all internal controls, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
6. Assisting with the annual audit process by liaising with external auditors and managing the preparation of audit materials.
7. Participating in strategic financial projects, including system improvements and implementations.
8. Providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Senior Accountant role, you must possess the following:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a law firm or the legal industry.
3. Proven expertise in finance, ADP, and payroll management.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
