This person will work closely alongside the current accounting lead, learning the business deeply and taking ownership of day‑to‑day accounting and compliance functions across two entities.This is more than a transactional accounting role. The right person thrives in a hands‑on environment, takes ownership without being asked, and is motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful.Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions across two entities with accuracy and consistencyProcess payroll for both entitiesOversee compliance‑related accounting tasks including government contract requirements and DCAA complianceSupport tax preparation by maintaining clean, organized financials for reviewManage inventory tracking and related recordkeepingHandle HR and administrative finance tasks as neededWork within QuickBooks (defense and government‑compliant version) and maintain organized paper and digital filing systemsPartner closely with ownership on financial reporting and business decisions as the role evolvesIdentify opportunities to improve processes and build stronger financial infrastructure over timeQualifications Solid hands‑on accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingExperience with QuickBooks, including government and defense‑compliant versions preferredFamiliarity with government contracting and DCAA compliance is a plus but not requiredProficient in Microsoft ExcelHighly organized with strong attention to detailComfortable working in both paper‑based and digital systemsA team player who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and is motivated to grow into a broader roleBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA a plus but not requiredSchedule and Location Part‑time to start with a clear path to full‑timeIn‑person in Orange County, CACompensation Starting salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually on a full‑time equivalent basis, commensurate with experience.
