Position Summary

Direct hire opportunity for an Accounting Manager to work with our Irvine, California client. This position will play a key leadership role within a rapidly growing company in the cosmetics arena. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building scalable processes while maintaining strong financial discipline. The position oversees core accounting operations, financial close, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on Excel-based analysis and SAP system expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Oversee general ledger, revenue recognition, accruals, and balance sheet integrity in a fast-growth environment
• Build and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to support company scale and complexity
• Partner cross-functionally with headquarters, external accountants and internal teams.
• Drive continuous process improvement to shorten close cycles and improve reporting accuracy
• Support ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and system integrations within SAP

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people leadership
• Experience operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial, or evolving organization
• Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis)
• Hands-on SAP experience required
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proven experience managing audits and working with external auditors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer products, beauty, cosmetics, or lifestyle brands
• Background in scaling accounting functions for growing companies
• Experience with inventory, cost accounting, and multi-entity structures
