How will you contribute?
Financial Reporting & Oversight:
Oversee and maintain accurate accounting records, financial statements, and reports in compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Report on the organization's financial position to the CFO and support leadership decision-making with timely, reliable data.
Assist in developing the annual budget and provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management.
Payroll & Accounts Management:
Own bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processes using UKG, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with firm policies.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining timely and accurate processing.
Administer and maintain the firm's 401(k) plan, ensuring accurate contribution processing and compliance.
Process & Systems Improvement:
Leverage Sage 100 and Salesforce to maintain financial records, streamline workflows, and ensure data integrity across platforms.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and documentation in coordination with the CFO.
Stay current with regulatory requirements and best practices, adapting firm procedures accordingly.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Directly supervise and develop several accounting staff members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Act as liaison between CR Legal Team and partner firms, external auditors, and vendors.
Collaborate with Human Resources in HR/Payroll systems for the set-up of and maintenance of payroll deductions for employee benefits.
Collaborate closely with the CFO on all aspects of the accounting department.
Compliance, Audits & Entity Management:
Maintain accounting records across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate intercompany accounting and consolidated reporting.
Coordinate tax deliverables across all entities, liaising with external tax preparers and ensuring timely filing obligations.
Lead the annual financial audit process as the primary contact for external auditors.
Manage the annual workers' compensation audit, including payroll and classification data preparation.
Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA designation preferred. Prior supervisory or team lead experience a plus.
Familiarity with trust accounting and settlement disbursement processes is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Sage 100 (accounting), UKG (payroll), and Salesforce strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data to leadership and explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex financial data and support strategic decision-making.
Professional, discreet, and adaptable when working with sensitive information and diverse stakeholders.
