Description

Senior Accountant

Salary: $88,000 - $98,000

Looking for a Senior Accountant opportunity where you can do more than just month-end close? This role offers the chance to join a large, stable organization while gaining exposure to complex accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, process improvement, and a major ERP transformation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys solving problems, working across departments, and taking ownership of their work. Public-sector experience is a plus, but not required — we're looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation who can learn the nuances of the organization.

Why You'll Love This Senior Accountant Opportunity

  • Join a large, established organization offering long-term stability

  • Gain valuable exposure to a major ERP implementation and modernization initiative

  • Work on more than just the monthly close, with exposure to reporting, audits, analysis, compliance, and special projects

  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization and become a trusted accounting resource

  • Opportunity to identify inefficiencies and help improve accounting processes

  • Build experience within a complex accounting environment that will continue to strengthen your technical skill set

What You'll Do as a Senior Accountant

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure financial transactions are recorded appropriately

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Research account discrepancies, analyze financial activity, and resolve balancing issues

  • Assist with financial reporting, annual audits, and regulatory reporting requirements

  • Provide accounting support, guidance, and training to internal stakeholders

  • Participate in ERP implementation, testing, system improvements, and accounting process enhancements

  • Help strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Serve as a knowledgeable accounting resource for departments throughout the organization

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of accounting, finance, or audit experience

  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis

  • Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

  • Comfortable researching discrepancies and working through complex accounting issues

  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Governmental, nonprofit, public-sector, or similarly complex accounting experience is helpful but not required

  • ERP implementation or system conversion experience is a plus

The Ideal Senior Accountant

The ideal Senior Accountant is someone who is technically strong but also curious and solutions-oriented. You'll be successful here if you're comfortable digging into the details, asking questions, collaborating with different stakeholders, and helping improve the way accounting processes are handled.

For a Senior Accountant looking for stability, variety, visibility, and exposure to a large-scale ERP transformation, this is an opportunity to make an impact while continuing to grow your accounting experience.
