Senior Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining general ledger activity, analyzing financial results, and supporting the accounting needs of our real estate assets.You'll work closely with Accounting, Finance, and Asset Management while gaining broad exposure to financial reporting, acquisitions, internal controls, audits, and special accounting projects.If you enjoy digging into the numbers, solving discrepancies, and looking for ways to improve accounting processes, this could be a great next step in your career.What You'll Do

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAPRecord and review monthly balance sheet and income statement activityResearch and analyze financial activity and summarize financial resultsRecord acquisition and disbursement activity for new and existing assetsReview general ledger activity and investigate discrepanciesPartner with Finance, Asset Management, and other departments to resolve accounting issuesAssist with the development and documentation of accounting policies and business processesHelp maintain and strengthen internal controlsProvide documentation and support for year-end auditsAssist with special accounting projects and other initiatives as neededMaintain high standards of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university2-5 years of professional accounting experienceReal estate accounting experience is preferredCPA designation is a plusStrong understanding of general ledger and financial statement accountingIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OutlookExperience with JD Edwards or a comparable general ledger/accounting systemStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
