Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Cambridge, MA. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support account reconciliations, audit readiness initiatives, financial reporting, and general accounting operations. This role will focus heavily on reviewing and rebuilding account reconciliations, researching aged reconciling items, strengthening supporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit standards. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong accounting fundamentals, exceptional reconciliation skills, and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Senior Accountant will review existing account reconciliations and identify deficiencies, inaccuracies, or unsupported balances
  • Rebuild and standardize reconciliations to meet audit and compliance requirements
  • Research, analyze, and resolve aged reconciling items and account discrepancies
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation
  • Prioritize reconciliation activities based on risk assessments and business requirements
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Gather transaction detail, supporting schedules, and documentation for financial analysis and audit requests
  • As a Senior Accountant, you will maintain reconciliation records and ensure audit-ready documentation is available
  • Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparation and compliance initiatives
  • Utilize reconciliation and financial systems to track, manage, and document reconciliation activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting controls, processes, and reporting efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level
  • Strong account reconciliation experience, including complex balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles
  • Experience reviewing, rebuilding, and improving reconciliation processes
  • Experience supporting audit readiness and compliance initiatives
  • Advanced critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed or offshore teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public accounting experience
  • Industry accounting experience
  • Oracle Fusion experience
  • Oracle ARCS (Account Reconciliation Cloud Service) experience
  • Experience working with offshore accounting teams
  • Experience supporting financial transformation or reconciliation cleanup projects

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
