Senior Accountant

Setting/Hours: 100% in Office| Full-time
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations and continued growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and lender requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate general ledger records.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations while investigating and resolving discrepancies.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and financial support.

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation records, and amortization entries.

  • Support tax preparation and compliance activities.

  • Prepare quarterly debt compliance analyses and lender reporting requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and leverage technology and AI tools within the accounting function.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives and financial reporting needs.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience;experience in real estate, affordable housing, construction, property management, or related industries is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.

  • Experience with accounting software platforms;Rent Manager®and Avid experience are highly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Self-motivated professional who can operate independently and adapt to a growing, evolving organization.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary of $100, 000 –$120, 000, depending on experience.

  • Annual bonus opportunity of up to 10%.
