Senior Accountant

Our client is a nationally recognized, fast-growing industrial company with a values-driven culture and a reputation for professionalism, competence, and integrity. They're hiring a Senior Accountant for their shared-services organization, which supports a growing portfolio of businesses under common ownership. The role owns the multi-entity month-end close and serves as the team's go-to GAAP expert. As the organization grows, this person will also mentor junior staff and improve accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the monthly close and financial reporting for multiple entities, including reviewing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Mentor team members and promote best practices, accurate reporting, and professional growth
• Oversee GAAP compliance, accounting policies, and the documentation and implementation of internal controls
• Ensure state and federal licensing and reporting requirements are filed on time
• Lead the preparation of documentation and analysis for auditor and tax advisor PBC requests
• Identify and implement improvements to standard operating procedures and accounting workflows
• Work with other departments to review monthly GL activity and streamline reporting
• Support special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred
• 6 8+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years at the Senior level
• Track record of owning financial processes end to end and improving workflows
• Collaborative, with strong communication skills and a desire to develop others
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical problem-solving
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and cloud accounting software (Xero preferred)
• Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred; BI reporting tools such as Metabase or BigQuery a plus
