ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in accounting operations, financial reporting, and month end close activities. This individual will partner closely with leadership to ensure accurate reporting, maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, and support strategic growth initiatives.
 
The Senior Accountant will contribute across multiple accounting functions including technical accounting, financial analysis, acquisition integration, cash management, and process improvement initiatives.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead month end and year end close processes including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Support technical accounting areas including revenue recognition, purchase accounting, and lease accounting
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Support external audits, lender reporting, tax filings, and investor reporting requirements
  • Assist with acquisition integrations and accounting for newly acquired entities
  • Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies
  • Partner with operations, HR, payroll, admissions, and executive leadership teams
  • Perform daily cash management activities and oversee multiple bank accounts
 
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Public accounting experience highly preferred
  • Experience working within a private equity backed company preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX, and reporting analysis
  • Experience supporting month end close and financial statement preparation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • PA or active CPA track
  • Experience supporting acquisitions and integrations
  • Experience within a high growth organization
  • Exposure to reporting and business intelligence tools
