Lead or support month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheet accounts, and P&L reporting
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting
Maintain and review key balance sheet schedules
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
Oversee inventory and cost accounting, including standard costing and variance analysis
Partner with operations on cost drivers, efficiencies, and production variances
Support physical inventories, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory differences
Oversee fixed asset accounting related to manufacturing equipment
Leadership & Controls
Supervise and mentor accounting staff (Accounting Manager level)
Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
Coordinate and support external audits
Drive process improvements and reporting efficiencies
Systems & Cross‑Functional Support
Utilize Sage ERP (e.g., Sage 100, Sage 300, or similar) for accounting, inventory, and reporting
Collaborate with plant leadership, supply chain, and finance teams
Support budgeting and forecasting from a cost and operational perspective
Assist with ERP reporting enhancements and system improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing required)
Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
Sage ERP experience required (Sage 100, Sage 300, or related Sage platforms)
Advanced Excel skills
Prior leadership or mentoring experience preferred (required for Accounting Manager level)
