Senior Account Manager

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) 60173

Travel: 25-50% travel required (subject to change)

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 base salary + performance-based bonus (5-15% potential, not guaranteed)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a relationship-driven Senior Account Manager to develop and grow strategic customer accounts within the electronic components industry. This role combines both business development and account management, making it ideal for someone who excels at building long-term customer relationships while identifying opportunities for revenue growth.

The successful candidate will bring experience working with a major electronics component distributor or closely within that ecosystem and have a strong understanding of the electronic components market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with key customer accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for clients.
  • Drive revenue growth through both account expansion and new business development activities.
  • Identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Create and execute strategic account plans to support customer success and business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of products and services.
  • Monitor account performance and proactively address challenges and opportunities.
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions.
  • Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Experience working for or closely with a major electronics components distributor.
  • Strong track record of developing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Experience managing existing accounts while generating new business opportunities.
  • Industry experience within electronic components.
  • Proven success in account management, business development, sales, or a related customer-facing role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
  • Performance-Based Bonus: Potential 5-15% of annual salary based on individual and company performance (not guaranteed)
