J&L Marketing is a leading advertising agency helping major brands and automotive dealerships outperform the competition through digital and direct marketing strategies.

We combine data, creativity, technology, and strategy to deliver measurable results. Our culture values ownership, innovation, accountability, hard work, and winning for our clients.

Position Overview

J&L Marketing is seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to manage, retain, and grow some of our most important national and automotive client relationships.

This role is a hybrid of strategic account management, account growth, and project management.

The Senior Account Manager will take ownership of established client relationships that are transitioned to them, ensuring those clients receive an exceptional level of service, communication, follow-through, and strategic support.

They will also be responsible for growing participation within our national account programs by working with individual dealerships to educate them on available services and enroll additional locations into those programs.

In addition, this person will project manage larger client initiatives, coordinating both internal J&L teams and external client stakeholders to ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and successfully executed.

The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, organized, proactive, hard-working, and comfortable managing multiple high-value client relationships and projects at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned key national accounts and established client relationships, with responsibility for client satisfaction, retention, and overall relationship health.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and ensure consistent, proactive communication and follow-through.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each client's business, objectives, priorities, challenges, and current J&L programs.
  • Ensure clients receive an exceptional level of service and that questions, requests, concerns, and commitments are addressed quickly and completely.
  • Grow national account programs by working directly with individual dealerships to explain available J&L services and enroll additional dealerships into approved programs.
  • Guide dealerships through the enrollment and activation process and coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Identify additional opportunities to expand J&L's relationship within existing accounts through relevant products and services.
  • Create polished executive-level presentation decks for Quarterly Business Reviews, strategic planning sessions, performance reviews, and other major client meetings.
  • Work with internal teams to gather performance data, results, insights, and recommendations and turn them into clear client-facing presentations.
  • Present performance, strategy, recommendations, and opportunities to client stakeholders.
  • Project manage larger client initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate internal departments and external client stakeholders to establish timelines, responsibilities, deliverables, approvals, and deadlines.
  • Maintain clear project plans, meeting notes, action items, owners, and next steps.
  • Proactively identify delays, risks, or roadblocks and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them.
  • Ensure commitments made to clients are properly communicated internally and completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate account documentation, dealership enrollment activity, project updates, opportunities, and next steps.
  • Travel approximately 6-8 times per year for client meetings, QBRs, strategic planning sessions, dealership meetings, and major client initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Senior Account Manager will:

  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with assigned key accounts
  • Keep clients satisfied, informed, and confident in J&L
  • Retain and protect existing client revenue
  • Increase dealership participation within national account programs
  • Successfully enroll and activate new dealerships
  • Effectively manage larger client projects from beginning to end
  • Deliver strong QBRs, presentations, and strategic recommendations
  • Consistently follow through on commitments and deadlines
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proactively identify client needs, risks, and opportunities

Ideal Candidate

  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Exceptional work ethic and strong sense of urgency
  • Takes complete ownership of responsibilities
  • Proactive rather than reactive
  • Strong relationship-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working with both national account leadership and individual dealerships
  • Confident presenting products, services, results, and recommendations
  • Strong project-management skills
  • Able to manage multiple clients, dealership enrollments, and projects simultaneously
  • Strong follow-through and accountability
  • Comfortable working with data, reporting, digital marketing platforms, and CRM systems
  • Able to coordinate multiple internal teams while remaining accountable for the final client experience

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, client services, customer success, consultative sales, or a similar client-facing role
  • Demonstrated experience managing and retaining important client relationships
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting products and services and guiding clients through enrollment or adoption
  • Experience creating professional client presentations and PowerPoint decks
  • Digital and/or direct marketing experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 6-8 times per year
  • Automotive dealership or automotive marketing experience is strongly preferred

Benefits

  • Salary of $70,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

About Company

Open since November 4th, 2016, GLR Marketing has already doubled in size with no plans of slowing down! By finding a niche in face to face new customer acquisitions and leadership development, Fortune 100 and 500 firms hire us to represent their brand, bridge the gap between client and consumer and set them apart from the competition. Almost everything we do is on a persona face to face level. Where billboards, commercials, and telemarketing fails, GLR Marketing thrives.

Why would companies choose to work with us and not use their own trained sales team? Character. A lot of what we do and how we do it is based on character and being relentless. We actually recommend you read Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable by Tim Grover to understand just what we mean. When opening our firm, expanding from North Carolina and with only 6 people, including our CEO, Brittany Gragg, we were humble, hungry, and had a vision in mind.

GLR Marketing commits to service, quality, and growth. As communication goes more online and less in-person, GLR Marketing believes now more than ever that follow through and authenticity is key. The difference a genuine smile and handshake can make Is astronomical; clients trust our relationship-based sales approach especially because we have the numbers to back it up. Since opening, we have doubled our client’s target goals and help them acquire more long-term happy customers than their competition.

What sets our team apart from other sales firms is our service to our people and dedication to expansion. To intrinsically motivate our team to be the best version of themselves and deliver their best efforts on a daily basis, we link our success as a firm to the success of our team and each individual team member. If our team isn’t seeing constant development, if they are not learning and we are not adding value to their lives, then we aren’t fulfilling our duty as a company.

GLR Marketing appreciates our team’s relentless attitude and vow to give 100% to every team member who gives 100% to us. We celebrate the small victories and believe in constant and never ending improvement.

If you are going to do something, you might as well do it the best you can. Be two feet in and invest your heart and passion into being your finest version.
