Role OverviewThe Senior Account Executive at BetterLesson Learning leads prospective clients through the consultative sales process, from qualified opportunity to signed agreement. This customer-facing role serves as a trusted advisor, helping district leaders identify solutions that align with their instructional goals while ensuring internal alignment across Revenue Growth, School Solutions, Client Success, and Operations.
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing complex sales opportunities, building executive-level relationships, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and guiding each opportunity through the buying process with professionalism, transparency, and discipline. Success in this role requires strong consultative selling skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesConsultative Sales & Client Engagement- Lead prospective clients through the complete sales process from qualified opportunity to signed agreement.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand client goals, challenges, priorities, and success criteria.
- Build trusted relationships with district leaders, administrators, and key stakeholders throughout the buying process.
- Present BetterLesson Learning's professional learning and technology solutions in a consultative, client-centered manner.
Opportunity & Deal Management- Manage multiple sales opportunities through each stage of the sales lifecycle.
- Develop stakeholder maps, account strategies, and close plans that support successful deal execution.
- Prepare proposals, pricing recommendations, and commercial agreements.
- Lead contract discussions and negotiations while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and client expectations.
- Maintain accurate opportunity records, forecasts, and activity within the CRM.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Partner with the School Solutions team to ensure proposed solutions align with client needs and organizational capabilities.
- Collaborate with Client Success to support effective post-sale transitions and long-term client success.
- Coordinate with Operations and internal stakeholders to confirm implementation readiness prior to contract execution.
- Communicate opportunity status, risks, and client feedback across cross-functional teams.
Sales Excellence & Continuous Improvement- Maintain disciplined sales processes and pipeline management practices.
- Monitor opportunity progression and proactively remove barriers to advancement.
- Stay informed on K–12 education trends, instructional priorities, and BetterLesson Learning offerings.
- Contribute market insights and client feedback to support continuous improvement of products, services, and sales strategies.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in consultative sales, account management, or business development.
- Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cross-functional sales and implementation environments.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) to manage opportunities and sales activities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred- Experience selling to K–12 school districts, educational organizations, or the public sector.
- Knowledge of professional learning, instructional services, educational technology, or SaaS solutions.
- A working understanding of the RFP process and navigating public procurement.

TravelThis position may require up to 15% travel for executive client meetings, proposal presentations, conferences, and industry events.
