Position purpose In support of Vaughn College’s enrollment, retention, and graduation goals, provides academic success coaching to students. Advises students on academic planning, degree completion strategies, available resources, and related academic processes. Provides leadership and guidance to Advisers and Academic Success Coaches by supporting staff development, sharing best practices, and coordinating initiatives. Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Provide proactive advising and coaching to an assigned caseload of students to support retention, persistence, progression, and timely graduation.
Serve as the primary contact for assigned cohort(s) and assist with schedule planning, registration, four-year plans, career and graduate school planning. Works with college offices to develop, monitor, and update degree plans, audits and academic records.
Maintains a case roster of students in the student information system(s); follows a detailed inquiry management and communication plan; tracks student engagements; assists with developing and presenting reports and data. Meets established unit benchmarks, customer service standards, key performance indicators, and daily productivity metrics.
Assists students' connection with the college for registration permissions, course substitutions, course equivalency reviews, transient requests, and other records maintenance as required.
Achieve established metrics, which may include contact hours, appointments, and associated summary reports, assigned students continuing to the next term.
Teach at least one section of the First-Year Initiative (FYI) or First-Year Experience (FYE) course, providing instruction that supports first-year student transition, engagement, and academic success.
Leadership Responsibilities Assist the Director with onboarding, training, mentoring, and supporting newly hired Academic Success Coaches.
Develop, maintain, and deliver training materials, advising resources, procedures, and best practices for the Academic Affairs team.
Review student success, persistence, and retention data to identify trends, develop intervention strategies, and recommend improvements to support student achievement.
Analyze retention, persistence, and graduation data to develop evidence-based intervention strategies, support institutional assessment and accreditation efforts, and improve student success outcomes.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered advising environment that promotes belonging, engagement, and academic success.

This position is located in an office environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand and navigate within the office area. The office equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees. This position is based on our campus in Queens, NY. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (in-person 4 days a week and remote 1 day a week), subject to change based on college policy and the business needs of the division. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager. Appropriate workspace will be required for remote work. Preferred: Salary: $67,000 - $70,000
