    Semiconductor Vacuum and Tool Service Engineer

    Core responsibilities

    • Deliver onsite and service-center support across: contracted PMs, emergency/unscheduled repairs, consumable swaps, installations, and tool start-ups.
    • Leverage operation manuals and technical documentation to identify and resolve root causes of failures.
    • Capture detailed records of PM activities, downtime, issues, and hours; produce reports supporting product movement and on-site service justification in the customer’s systems.
    • Execute preventive maintenance independently with minimal oversight.
    • Order and expedite parts; alert customers and/or management when replacements are needed; repair/replace defective assemblies and validate system recovery.
    • Systematically troubleshoot mechanical, hardware, software, and system faults using approved checklists and protocols.
    • Apply Finesse training to maintain accurate parts usage and transaction tracking.
    • Communicate status, action plans, and timelines directly to customers; escalate complex issues to senior engineering or support teams as required.
    • Uphold EBARA safety policies and complete all mandated safety training; maintain a clean, compliant workspace aligned with EBARA and customer standards.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

    Required capabilities

    • Lift 35 lbs. unassisted (floor to waist).
    • Interpret and work from electrical/mechanical schematics and diagrams.
    • Operate equipment and tooling essential to the role’s core functions.
    • Perform in a diverse, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
    • Carry out duties without creating risk to self, others, or property.
    • Meet EBARA attendance and punctuality expectations.
    • Manage pressure and competing deadlines while maintaining teamwork and professionalism.
    • If respirator use is required, pass annual fit testing and medical clearance.

    Education

    • High School diploma or AS in Electronics, or completion of an accredited basic electronics program, or equivalent experience.

    Preferred experience

    • 4–6 years related experience, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing/support.
    • Hands-on mechanical aptitude; familiarity with semiconductor and/or vacuum technology principles.
    • Strong customer relations track record.

    Technical toolkit

    • Component-level troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
    • Clear written and verbal communication; collaborative relationship-building with teams and customers.
    • Detail orientation and quality focus.
    • Ability to verify a clean driving record when servicing offsite customers.
