Semiconductor Facilities Utilities Technician

Day in the life

As the go-to technician for our semiconductor facility, you start your day by pulling up FMCS/BMS dashboards and scanning the health of critical utilities—HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, electrical distribution, plumbing, and mechanical assets. An alarm comes in; you verify conditions, respond safely using lockout/tagout (LOTO) where required, and coordinate with a vendor to address a component issue. Between events, you move through routine inspections and preventive maintenance, keep equipment running at peak reliability, and capture clean records so the next shift knows exactly what changed. Before you wrap up, you document work orders and update operational logs, ensuring a smooth handoff.

What you’ll handle

• Continuously monitor facility and utility systems via FMCS/BMS platforms.
• Act on equipment alarms, abnormalities, and utility interruptions to restore normal operation.
• Execute routine inspections and preventive maintenance across facility systems.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, plumbing, mechanical, and basic electrical issues.
• Support equipment startup, shutdown, operational switching, and emergency response activities.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs with external vendors and contractors.
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance histories, and operational logs.
• Follow safety procedures at all times, including LOTO and appropriate PPE.
