Description:

Shifts will vary.

Primarily will be 10am-6:30pm. Could be as late as 3:30pm to midnight for some shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Answer client phone calls and assist with inquiries regarding test information and patient results. Refer complex issues to the appropriate Client Service Specialist as needed.

  2. Reconcile pending test lists from clients and monitor/investigate tests pending at referral laboratories.

  3. Reconcile Warde daily and/or weekly pending lists.

  4. Support Client Service Specialists by researching test information, entering client responses into the LIS, and contacting clients as needed.

  5. Assist the Client Services Manager with special projects.

  6. Perform administrative duties as needed.

  7. Assist with reference lab reporting.

  8. Demonstrate accountability by communicating with colleagues on other shifts to resolve client concerns.

  9. Maintain rapport with colleagues in other departments to ensure service excellence for clients.

  10. Complete daily EPI reporting, transmit reportable infectious disease results to government agencies, and obtain missing patient demographic information from clients.

  11. Review cytogenetic reports in the LIS for completion and enter results for incomplete tests.

  12. Maintain proficiency in all computer systems required for job duties.

  13. Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approach conflict constructively, help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in resolution.

  14. Maintain confidentiality of information related to patients, physicians, colleagues, and visitors. Discuss patient information only with appropriate personnel and in private settings.

  15. Behave in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Service Excellence Standards, and the Mission, Vision, and Values of SJMH.

  16. Assume responsibility for performing job duties in the safest manner possible, ensuring personal and coworker safety, and reporting hazards or unsafe practices immediately to management.
