Other Pay Details:

• Pay structure is a cent-per-mile based with mileage based on Rand McNally mileage between stops at a rate of $1.35 (plus fuel surcharge)
• We run 75% loaded & 25% empty; drivers are paid a fuel surcharge (based on the DOE average)
• Average weekly pay: $3,557 which annualizes out to $185,000 a year (does not include any weekly deductions)
• Top 10% make $200,000

Position Details:

• Daily duties: moving JB Hunt containers from the various rail ramps located throughout the Midwest region to customers for loading and unloading

• All loads will ingate into the Chicago rail

• 99% no touch freight

• Typical service area: 200-mile radius from the city of Indianapolis

• Hazmat endorsement is not required

• Drivers do not pick freight from a load board but are free to accept or reject loads that are planned on them as they see fit

• Base plates, permits, tolls are paid by IC

• Optional weekly toll deductions is $150/week

• Optional weekly plates deductions are $40/week

• Reimbursement for scales

Equipment Info:

• Tractor needs to be 2001 or newer
• Driver needs to remove all decals from truck prior to showing up day 1.
• Drivers can run in either a sleeper or day cab as long as their truck meets the age requirement
• IC's will run on Elogs (electronic log books)
• The truck with driver and fuel cannot weigh more than 19,500 lbs.
• Truck/trailer cannot be parked at the terminal for time off, will need to find their own parking.

Onboarding Details:

• All Indianapolis Intermodal IC's attend virtual orientation
• Tractor must be dropped off at Chicago Terminal (usually takes 48-72 hrs)
• Tractor must not have any check engine light on, it will be rejected by the shop, and driver must fix issues before continuing installation
• Training Pay: $500 (paid out in one weekly $500 installment)
