Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Provides physical therapy treatment to assigned patients in accordance with the treatment plan of care. Assumes responsibility for creating experienced-based service.

General Requirements • Valid State of Michigan Physical Therapy Assistant License • CPR/BCLS certification. Work Experience • No prior work experience is required Education • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge of physical therapy theory and techniques • Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory standards and hospital policies related to the provision of rehabilitation services including HIPAA confidentiality and JCAHO mandates • Written and computer skills necessary to prepare required documentation • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate, orally and in written form, with patients, families, physicians, and health care professionals in the exchange of information. Presents self in a warm, professional and caring manner. • Demonstrates professional appearance. • Skills necessary to provide guidance, training, prioritize and review the work of assigned staff • Analytical ability to assess patient progress and recommend appropriate changes to the plan of care • Mental ability to complete required documentation in a timely manner, deal with the concerns of patients and their families, and handle frequent scheduling changes • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, transfer/lift/ reposition patients, reach/stoop/bend/kneel/crouch, and operate rehabilitation equipment/devices • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
