Birch Tree Therapies is growing, and we’re looking for Occupational Therapists and COTAs to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year!
Looking for a school-based position with a supportive team, a schedule that works for you, and room to grow? We’d love to meet you!
We have opportunities across different school settings, schedules, and student populations. Whether you’re looking for a couple of days a week or a fuller schedule, prefer working with certain age groups, or are interested in trying something new, we’d love to learn more about what you’re looking for and find a good fit!
About Birch Tree Therapies
We are a therapist-owned and operated company, built by school-based clinicians who understand what this job actually looks like day-to-day. That means no unrealistic expectations, no impossible caseloads, and no feeling like you’re on your own. We’ve created the kind of work environment we wished existed when we first entered the field.
Whether you’re an experienced school-based clinician or someone looking to transition into schools, you will be supported here. If you’re motivated, reflective, and want to learn, we will teach you everything you need to feel confident and successful.
About the Role
You will support school-aged students in accessing their education, building independence, and participating meaningfully in their school day. This includes collaboration with teachers, integrating into classroom routines, and using strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
What Makes This Position Unique
- Open to either an Occupational Therapist or COTA
- Strong mentorship available, especially for clinicians new to schools
- Paid documentation time built into your schedule
- Realistic caseloads and expectations
- Leadership that understands the clinical and emotional demands of school-based work
- Opportunity to grow with a small, therapist-centered company
What You’ll Do
- Provide student-centered, strengths-based occupational therapy services within your scope of practice
- Support students in participating in classroom routines and school activities
- Collaborate closely with OTs, teachers, families, and school teams
- Support regulation, participation, and independence in natural classroom settings
- Implement IEP goals and occupational therapy interventions within your scope of practice
- Maintain organized and timely documentation
Who We’re Looking For
- Occupational Therapist: Licensed PA OT and NBCOT certified
- COTA: Licensed and certified to practice in Pennsylvania
- Open to both experienced school-based clinicians and those new to school-based practice
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Committed to neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care
- Willingness to learn, reflect, and grow
Compensation & Benefits
Our W-2 packages are individualized based on your needs and may include:
- Competitive hourly rate
- Health insurance options
- Paid time off
- Paid documentation time
- Stipends for materials, travel, and continuing education
- Short-term disability
- Retirement packages
- Mentorship and ongoing support
- Opportunities for growth within the company
Why Birch Tree Therapies
We are a small, tight-knit team that truly prioritizes therapist well-being. You’ll be working with clinicians who get it, who are available to problem-solve with you, and who care deeply about both their students and their team.
We believe great therapy happens when clinicians feel supported, respected, and empowered, and that’s exactly what we aim to provide.
If you’re looking for a flexible school-based OT or COTA position with room to grow, where you can do meaningful work and feel genuinely supported, we’d love to connect!
