    Security Technician – CCTV & Access Control


    Location:Tempe, AZ
    Job Type: Full-Time
    Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour



    We are seeking an experienced Security Technician to join a leading global technology solutions provider in Tempe, AZ.

    This is a full-time, hands-on opportunity for a technician with experience installing, servicing and troubleshooting commercial video surveillance, IP camera, access control and low-voltage security systems.

    Working under the direction of a Lead Technician, the Security Technician will install and integrate physical security solutions using technologies including Verkada, Milestone, Bosch, Meraki and Panasonic. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial security installations, IP-based camera systems, access control and structured cabling.

    What You'll Do
    • Install, service, test and troubleshoot commercial physical security systems, including video surveillance/CCTV, IP cameras and access control systems.

    • Work with security platforms and technologies including Verkada, Milestone, Bosch, Meraki and Panasonic.

    • Install wall- and ceiling-mounted security cameras.

    • Install and configure door access control systems and associated hardware.

    • Configure IP cameras, recording systems and servers, including IP addressing.

    • Perform minor system programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.

    • Install flat-panel displays and related security monitoring equipment.

    • Perform structural mounting and rigging as required.

    • Perform rack fabrication and equipment staging.

    • Install Category 5/5e, Category 6 and fiber optic structured cabling and associated hardware.

    • Work with fiber, copper, coax and hybrid communications infrastructure.

    • Assist with system testing, troubleshooting and commissioning.

    • Work independently or as part of a team to integrate low-voltage and physical security systems.

    • Perform installations in both retrofit and new-construction environments and assist with system cutovers.

    • Serve as a customer liaison at the job site when the Project Manager is unavailable.

    • Provide client training as needed.

    • Complete required job-site documentation and daily paperwork.

    • Follow applicable ANSI, EIA/TIA, National Electrical Code and industry standards.

    • Follow company and job-site safety procedures and utilize required personal protective equipment.

    • Participate in ongoing technical and product training.

    What We're Looking For
    • High school diploma or Technical Trade School diploma.

    • 3+ years of experience in communications infrastructure, physical security and/or low-voltage installation.

    • Hands-on experience installing commercial security cameras and access control systems.

    • Experience with IP-based video surveillance and networked security systems.

    • Experience with fiber, copper, coax and structured cabling.

    • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Video-over-IP and converged network technologies.

    • Ability to configure IP cameras and related security equipment.

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of an installation team.

    • Strong customer service and communication skills.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

    • Valid driver's license required.

    Preferred Training & Certifications

    Experience or certification with one or more of the following is preferred:

    • Verkada camera systems and access control

    • Milestone video management systems

    • Bosch camera systems

    • Meraki camera systems

    • Panasonic/i-PRO camera systems

    • Cisco CCNA

    • InfoComm/AVIXA Quick Start to the Audiovisual Industry

    • OSHA 10-Hour Construction

    Additional Requirements
    • Ability to work extended hours and overtime when needed.

    • Availability for occasional night and weekend work.

    • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation when required.

    • Ability to work safely and follow established company and job-site safety procedures.

    • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and learn new physical security technologies.
