Security Systems Associate Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a Security Systems Associate Technician to join our field services team. In this role, you will work onsite at commercial customer locations to install, configure, test, and service integrated security and fire alarm systems.

The ideal candidate will have low-voltage knowledge, strong technical aptitude, good customer service skills, and the ability to work safely and independently in a field environment.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and test security and fire alarm system components and devices.

Dismantle, relocate, and reconstruct equipment as required.

Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation procedures.

Read and interpret electrical, building, and sprinkler blueprints when required.

Test systems and verify proper communication with monitoring/receiving centers.

Contact customers before scheduled installations to confirm appointments and site readiness.

Prepare installation estimates according to established guidelines.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and properly dispose of installation materials and debris.

Coordinate with appropriate emergency response agencies when required for system notifications.

Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.

Assist with larger installation projects and coordinate activities with other technicians as needed.

Coach and support less experienced team members when appropriate.

Operate company or personal vehicles safely while traveling to customer locations.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge of low-voltage systems.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

Technical school training or relevant technical education.

Previous experience installing or servicing security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, or other low-voltage systems.

Experience in commercial security system installation.

Work Environment

This is an onsite field position; remote work is not available.

Regular travel to customer locations may be required.

The position may involve working in commercial buildings, construction areas, and other field environments.

Candidates should be comfortable using tools and performing hands-on installation work.
