Essential Job Functions
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
- Support security operations through deterring losses attributed to external and internal theft via observation, suppression, and contact law enforcement when required.
- Maintain both written and verbal communications with the Director of Security and supervise other security staff members.
- Recommend hiring and disciplinary actions, conduct employee evaluations and delegate work assignments.
- Confirm presence and activities of scheduled security officers.
- Identify and notify replacement personnel to assume vacant security officer assignments.
- Review documentation, activity and security officer reports.
- Provide officer back-up when investigating irregularities.
- Respond to alarm notifications.
- Submit periodic reports to management regarding activities, irregularities, and identify needed action.
- Work outside scheduled hours to ensure consistent coverage, attends training classes, meetings, and other activities as needed to meet the business needs of the security department.
- Assume on-call duty as assigned, responding to security needs and reporting to duty as necessary.
- Assist with evacuation/emergency training and processes.
- Apply basic addition, multiplication, and division skills daily.
- Obtain valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of security experience or 2+ years military experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Work Environment and Context
- Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime and may include holidays and weekends. Depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
