    Security Project Manager - Electronic Security Systems

    Lead complex electronic-security projects from concept through closeout, overseeing access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, structured cabling, and integrated security solutions. This role owns project planning, client communication, field coordination, financial performance, installation quality, commissioning, and final acceptance across commercial, enterprise, and mission-critical environments.

    Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

    Schedule: Full time; schedule flexibility and regional travel based on client needs

    Work Setting: Combination of office, active-construction, and client-site work

    Role Type: Direct hire

    Responsibilities

    • Manage multiple electronic-security projects from kickoff through commissioning, final acceptance, closeout, and turnover.
    • Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, procurement timelines, risk registers, and billing milestones.
    • Coordinate engineering, estimating, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, customers, IT stakeholders, and construction trades.
    • Lead kickoff meetings, progress reviews, customer updates, inspections, punch-list reviews, and closeout activities.
    • Serve as the primary customer contact, manage expectations, communicate risks, resolve issues, and build trusted relationships.
    • Manage labor utilization, material procurement, subcontractor performance, purchase requests, change orders, invoicing, cash flow, and profitability.
    • Review drawings, specifications, low-voltage designs, RFIs, submittals, schedules, scope revisions, and closeout requirements.
    • Lead field supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, programmers, and project-support personnel.
    • Oversee access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, structured cabling, installation, testing, and commissioning.
    • Ensure compliance with contracts, customer standards, applicable codes, OSHA requirements, quality plans, and company procedures.
    • Coordinate inspections, functional testing, punch resolution, as-builts, customer training, warranties, and turnover packages.
    • Identify additional-service, upgrade, expansion, and future-project opportunities while protecting customer trust.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of project-management experience in commercial electronic security, low-voltage systems, integrated technology, or comparable construction environments.
    • Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, structured cabling, door-hardware interfaces, and integrated security.
    • Experience with Avigilon/Motorola Solutions, Genetec, LenelS2, Software House C-CURE, Paxton, Openpath, Milestone, or comparable platforms.
    • Responsibility for schedules, budgets, forecasts, field labor, subcontractors, procurement, change orders, billing, and customer relationships.
    • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, revisions, device schedules, punch lists, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
    • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, security designs, door details, risers, and project schedules.
    • Experience leading installation, testing, commissioning, customer training, final acceptance, and turnover.
    • Strong leadership, organization, communication, negotiation, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage concurrent projects without losing financial, documentation, safety, or quality control.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Procore, or Smartsheet.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Ability to complete applicable background, drug, client, and site-access screening requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Data-center, mission-critical, healthcare, financial, government, enterprise-campus, or critical-infrastructure security experience.
    • PMP, ASIS PSP, SIA CSPM, RCDD, CTS, or relevant manufacturer certifications.
    • Certifications involving Genetec, LenelS2, Avigilon, C-CURE, Milestone, Axis, Bosch, AMAG, Gallagher, or comparable platforms.
    • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Security Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience with Division 28, IP networking fundamentals, PoE, VLANs, security integrations, and enterprise commissioning.

    Work Environment

    This position combines office, client-site, and active-construction work with regional travel. Work may require appropriate PPE, navigating active construction environments, frequent use of laptops and mobile devices, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
