    Description

Security Operations Engineer – DFW/North Texas Onsite
    Direct Hire Opportunity
    No Sponsorship
    Onsite

We're partnering with a rapidly growing, well-funded technology company to add a Security Operations Engineer to its expanding U.S. security team. This is a hands-on opportunity for an early-career security professional who already has practical experience with vulnerability scanning and security operations and wants to broaden their expertise across cloud security, vulnerability management, automation, and regulated environments. Rather than simply running scans and handing off results, you'll help determine what's actionable, prioritize findings based on risk, work directly with engineering teams through remediation, and continuously improve the tools and processes used to identify and reduce security exposure. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals in the U.S. and internationally, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to accelerate their technical development and take on increasing ownership as the organization grows.

    Requirements:
    • Approximately 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, Cybersecurity or a closely related area.
    • Practical experience with at least one vulnerability-scanning technology such as Burp Suite, Nessus/Tenable, Sysdig or similar.
    • Understanding of the vulnerability-management lifecycle — identify → validate → prioritize → remediate → verify/close.
    • Foundational understanding of AWS/cloud infrastructure and how securing cloud environments differs from traditional on-premises infrastructure.
    • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes or other containerized environments.
    • Ability to investigate technical findings and distinguish meaningful security risks from false positives or lower-priority issues.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple findings and remediation efforts simultaneously.
    • Comfortable partnering with engineers and following issues through resolution.
    • Curious, self-directed mindset and a desire to expand beyond a narrowly defined security role.
    • Exposure to FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 or another structured security/compliance framework is highly desirable.
    • Python, Bash or other scripting/automation experience is a plus.
    • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both U.S. and international team members.
    • U.S. citizenship is required due to the regulated environments supported by this position (see below)
    Responsibilities:

    Vulnerability Management
    • Operate and maintain vulnerability-scanning tools across web applications, infrastructure/network and containerized environments.
    • Work hands-on with technologies such as Burp Suite, Nessus/Tenable and Sysdig, with potential exposure to Wiz and additional cloud-security tooling.
    • Execute recurring and on-demand vulnerability scans supporting releases, audits and security initiatives.
    • Analyze scan results rather than simply forwarding them — investigate findings, identify false positives and prioritize vulnerabilities based on actual risk.
    • Create and track remediation activities through Jira or similar workflow-management tools.
    • Partner directly with engineering teams to drive vulnerabilities through remediation and closure.
    • Monitor remediation timelines and help ensure established security SLAs are met.
    Cloud & Container Security
    • Work within AWS cloud environments and develop deeper expertise in cloud security.
    • Support security activities across containerized environments using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
    • Gain exposure to cloud security posture management and the identification of configuration, access and other cloud-related risks.
    • Work with security and engineering teams to continuously improve security across cloud infrastructure and applications.
    FedRAMP & Security Compliance
    • Support continuous security monitoring within regulated U.S. cloud environments.
    • Assist with security evidence collection, tracking and reporting.
    • Work with controls aligned to NIST 800-53 and gain practical experience supporting FedRAMP requirements.
    • Assist with POA&M/compliance tracking and audit-support activities.
    • Help maintain accurate security and compliance documentation for internal stakeholders and external reviews.
    Automation & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to make vulnerability and security workflows more efficient through automation, scheduling, alerting and data normalization.
    • Use or develop scripting skills with Python, Bash or similar technologies.
    • Contribute ideas for improving security tooling, processes and reporting.
    • Participate in cross-functional security initiatives with Security, Engineering and Compliance teams.
    Why Consider This Opportunity?
    Build Real Hands-On Depth
This isn't a role where you'll spend your day simply watching an alert queue.
    You'll gain practical exposure across:
    Vulnerability Management • AWS/Cloud Security • Application Security • Containers • Security Automation • FedRAMP/NIST
Learn From an Experienced Security Team
You'll work closely with senior security professionals while owning meaningful day-to-day responsibilities of your own.
For someone early in their cybersecurity career, this provides the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers while continuing to build increasingly valuable technical skills.

Opportunity to Grow With the Team
The U.S. Security Operations organization is continuing to expand. We're looking for someone who is curious, takes initiative and wants to assume greater technical ownership and responsibility over time.

    High-Growth Technology Environment
You'll join a well-funded, rapidly growing technology organization with a sophisticated security-focused product and a highly technical engineering environment.
The company offers competitive compensation, strong benefits and meaningful long-term growth potential.
