Security Officer(Flex) - Class A Office Complex

Location: Cleveland, OH

Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour

Class A Building - Flex Security Officer

Job Summary: A Flex Security Officer assigned to a Class A building provides high-visibility, customer-service oriented security for a premium commercial office property. "Class A" refers to a top-tier, high-rise office building with high-profile tenants and visitors. "Flex" means the officer is cross-trained to work multiple posts and flexible schedules - including lobby, loading dock, CCTV control room, roving patrol, and to fill call-offs, vacations, and special events.

This is both a security and hospitality role. Professional appearance, communication, and demeanor are as important as security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Access Control & Lobby Coverage:

• Monitor main lobby, turnstiles, and elevator banks

• Verify employee badges, issue visitor / vendor passes

• Enforce building sign-in / sign-out procedures

• Operate visitor management systems

• Patrol & Monitoring:

• Conduct roving foot patrols of floors, stairwells, parking garage, plaza, and perimeter

• Monitor CCTV, fire / life safety panels, and alarm systems

• Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, maintenance issues

• Tenant & Visitor Service:

• Provide directions, escort tenants/visitors as needed

• Answer phones and radios professionally

• Assist with tenant moves, deliveries, and courier management at loading dock

• Emergency Response:

• Respond to medical emergencies, fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and disturbances

• Assist with building evacuations, shelter-in-place, and active threat procedures

• Write detailed incident reports and daily activity reports

• Flex Duties:

• Rotate between all posts as assigned by supervisor

• Cover multiple shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime on short notice

• Support special events, fire drills, and after-hours access

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required
• 1-2+ years security, hospitality, military, or law enforcement experience preferred - Class A / corporate experience preferred
• Active Security Guard License as required by state/city
• CPR / AED / First Aid certification preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional appearance - able to meet strict Class A grooming and uniform standards
• Proficient with computers, CCTV, access control systems, visitor management software, and Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service mindset - courteous, calm, and proactive

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to stand / walk for 8-12 hour shifts, climb stairs, and patrol large areas
• Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs and assist in emergencies
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather for perimeter / garage checks
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with availability for all shifts
