Job Summary
Provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Work Experience
- 2 - 3 years healthcare security and/or Law Enforcement field with guard service or military police (Preferred)

Essential Functions
SECURITY DUTIES
- Provide safety and security for facility.
- Patrols daily, by vehicle and on foot, all hospital buildings on campus grounds to detect, deter, or address.
- Responds immediately to authorized requests for access to internal offices.
- Maintains safety and security of warehouse through door checks and random vehicle and walking patrols.
- Patrols all parking lots and assists visitors; escorts, when required, by vehicle or on foot patrol.
- Keeps all Emergency Center hallways and ambulance ramp clear.
- Inspects all access points to hospital authority building and internal offices, securing same when not occupied, following department policy and procedure.
TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USE
- Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
- Understands equipment operation.
- Maintains equipment in working order.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Uses technology to increase productivity.
- Adapts to new technology.
Additional Duties
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
