    Security Officer (Full-time)

    USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond.

    Job Summary:

    Under the direction of the Security Supervisor the Security Officer performs a variety of routine to skilled functions related to the physical security of the building and grounds, as well as the safety and security of staff, visitors and patients. The Security Officer is a working position that must provide day-to-day operational support and support to the employees of the Hospitality Services Department.

    Required Skills:

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Inspects facility for proper security and working conditions, maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment
    • Maintain security log throughout assigned shifts with a thorough and accurate description of details that occur.
    • Actively notify the proper personnel of any and all alarms and document communication.
    • Ensure completion of rounds and rounding forms.
    • Attend routine training and education for security department.
    • Maintains complete documentation, records and reports as required by the hospital's Quality and Infection Control department.
    • Assist with escorting of visitors and staff upon request.
    • Complete shift report with relieving officer.
    • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs.
    • Maintains a professional attitude with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient and other hospital information.
    • Position may require weekend, holiday and non-standard work hours.
    • Work a flex schedule and be available for overtime call-back for emergencies.

    Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.

    Required Experience:

    Qualifications:

    • High school, technical or electrical trade school graduate

    preferred.

    • 3 years' experience in hospital preferred.
    • General knowledge hospital processes.
    • Knowledge of processes used in hospitals.
    • Read schematics, manuals and blueprints.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
