  • Inquire whether they need services and share approved resource information (shelter, outreach teams, 211/LAHSA, medical, or other partner programs as directed by the client)
  • Ask people to leave private property when they do not have authorization to remain
  • Document every contact: location, time, description, what was offered, whether the person accepted or declined services, and whether they vacated
  • Learn and use the client's software for dispatch, notes, incident reports, and activity logs
  • Conduct property checks after contacts (tents, bedding, carts, abandoned items, safety hazards)
  • Notify supervision and, when required, law enforcement if someone refuses to leave, a camp is being established, or there is a safety issue
  • Maintain a visible, professional presence and represent the client and company on every stop
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports and incident reports before end of shift

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current California Guard Card (or ability to obtain before start, if required by site)

  • Clean driving record (no recent at-fault collisions, DUI, or major violations; MVR will be checked)
  • Comfortable working outdoors and walking lots, alleys, and property perimeters
  • Willing and able to learn the client's software (dispatch, reporting, and notes systems)
  • Able to communicate clearly and calmly with people in crisis, under stress, or who may be unsheltered
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass background check and drug screen
  • Reliable transportation to the report location (vehicle provided for on-duty response, depending on site)

Strongly preferred:

  • Prior homeless outreach, social work, case management, shelter, or street engagement experience
  • Experience talking with people who are unsheltered and connecting them to services
  • Security experience on parking lots, commercial property, or mobile patrol
