Security Officer Lead

Overview: It is the responsibility of the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Lead Security Officer to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer, as well as the supervision and training of officers and performing basic and advanced security functions and Guest Services for Golden Nugget/Landry’s Inc. Two or more years of experience in military, law enforcement or gaming security or experience in any of the listed security disciplines, within a hotel/casino preferred.

Overview:

It is the responsibility of the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Lead Security Officer to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer, as well as the supervision and training of officers and performing basic and advanced security functions and Guest Services for Golden Nugget/Landry’s Inc. • Assist the management team in supervision of Security Officers.
• Assist management with administrative duties.
• Assist management with supervisory duties during emergency situations.
• Provide training to other members of the security department

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management and line-level employees.
• Above average knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows and Office applications required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to understand questions and instructions from management.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents in English.
• Ability to properly respond to common inquiries from employees or guests.
• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
• Ability to properly react rationally to high stress situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Working knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of state and local laws and how to apply them.
• Ability to properly use security equipment such as two-way radio, handcuffs, etc.
• Must successfully complete American Red Cross or Equivalent CPR certification:
• Minimum age requirement is 21.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two or more years of experience in military, law enforcement or gaming security or experience in any of the listed security disciplines, within a hotel/casino preferred.

Two or more years of customer service experience preferred.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

Basic math skills.

 

Language Skills:

 

Must be able to speak and understand English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
• Frequently stooping, reaching. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
