Position Summary
As a Security Officer, you are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and controlled environment for residents, visitors, clients, and staff. You will monitor premises, enforce policies, and respond to incidents while providing professional and courteous service at all times.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security of the premises. · Control access points and verify identification of residents, visitors, and vendors. · Prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security risks. · Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies. · Write detailed daily activity logs and incident reports. · Observe and report any suspicious activity or unsafe conditions. · Enforce property rules, regulations, and post orders. · Provide assistance and directions to residents, guests, and visitors. · Maintain communication with management, staff, and emergency services when needed. · Conduct routine inspections of the property and report maintenance or safety issues. · Ensure all safety procedures and emergency protocols are followed. · De-escalate conflicts and handle situations in a professional manner. · Remain alert and attentive at all times while on duty.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required. · Previous experience in security or related field preferred. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. · Strong observational and problem-solving skills. · Professional appearance and demeanor at all times. · Ability to write clear and accurate reports. · Must be reliable, punctual, and responsible. · Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. · Reliable transportation to and from assigned workplace. · Valid Class D License or ability to obtain required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. · Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. · Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
