As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception Operations in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.15 / Hour

21+ Years of Age

2+ Years' Law Enforcement/Military Police/Corrections Experience

DayTimeFri03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, students, and guests while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at an education-focused location.
• Manage the front desk by greeting visitors, verifying identification, maintaining visitor logs, issuing access credentials, and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
• Monitor entry points, cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems; report unusual activity, access concerns, and maintenance issues according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency services as needed.
• Assist with access control, reception communications, and general front desk support while helping to deter unauthorized entry and maintain an orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
